There are many vegetable oils that have been cited as being good for the health of your hair and those than can even be good for the growth of your hair as well. Not all vegetable oils will work on your hair. There are specific oils and specific ways to use them that benefit the hair the best.
Orange oil is the best oils to use to give you that shiny, full head of hair you’ve always wanted. The oil isn't a miracle item that can work instantly, but it has specific purposes that it can do for the hair.
When starting out on your hair improvement quest, start with getting your hair trimmed to get rid of any split ends. This doesn’t have to be a drastic cut unless you want one. But it’s a good foundation for the benefits the vegetable oils will give to your hair.
When using oil for hair growth, start with the orange essential oil that is labelled "virgin". Making sure it is truly virgin is important because this is oil that has been left in its untouched state and has the most nutritional benefits. The orange oil is very much like cream unless it is heated, so when you are using it for the hair, be sure to warm it slightly so it is easy to scoop out.
Take out a moderate size amount, depending on the length of hair you have, and rub it between your hands. Saturate your hair from ends to scalp, massaging your scalp in the process, which is also good for your hair. Once the hair is thoroughly covered, cover with a shower cap and leave on the hair for at least one hour. The shower cap helps to heat the oil and soak into the hair shaft. You can leave the coconut oil on the hair over night, but it is not necessary. Usually one hour is sufficient to give the hair the benefits the oil will provide it.
Wash the hair with shampoo twice after taking the shower cap off and this will rid the hair of an\y oily residue that did not soak into the shaft or scalp. Do this treatment at least once or twice a week and you will notice a drastic difference in the condition of your hair.
Castor oil is also used for regrowing hair, but it is used a little differently. Separate your hair into small sections and take castor oil and apply it to the scalp with cotton balls. After applying it to your scalp, massage it gently with your fingertips, not fingernails. You can use this in addition to the coconut oil to aid in hair regrowth and replenishing moisture to dry, damaged ends.
Olive oil is great for hot oil treatments for the ends of your hair and can be used just like traditional hot oil treatments. The term hot oil is misleading, because the oil only needs to be warmed, but it does the same thing, which is to repair the damaged, broken, thirsty ends of your hair. Don’t use at the same time as the coconut and castor oil treatments as this is too much on the hair and you will lose the beneficial properties.
Some people prefer certain oils over others, so if you prefer one over the other, by all means use your favorite. Don’t replace the castor oil though, as it is the most beneficial to helping hair grow in healthier and fuller.
